In just over a week, we’ll be heading to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight for our brand new event, London Capital & Finance Osborne Horse Trials. A former royal residence of Queen Victoria, the stately home is steeped in history, and one of the island’s most popular tourism hot-spots. Ticketholder’s will have a unique opportunity to explore Osborne in the midst of sporting history being made – here are the top 5 things you have to see while you’re there.

  1. Queen Victoria’s Beach – “We have quite a charming beach to ourselves,” wrote Queen Victoria during her time at Osborne House. It was here that her majesty herself regularly bathed and where her children learnt to swim. Take in the views, enjoy a refreshing paddle in the sea, and top off your visit with a tasty ice cream from the local café.
  2. State Rooms – Hundreds of important guests and state leaders were regularly entertained by Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert in the magnificent state rooms of Osborne House. Wander the halls walked by royalty, take in the stunning décor and feel the history behind each room.
  3. Swiss Cottage – Nestled in the gardens of Osborne House, the Swiss Cottage is a real hidden gem. Funded by several donors, the Swiss Cottage showcases the interests of each of Queen Victoria’s nine children. Step back in time to play where royal children once played and see the fascinating objects they spent their time playing with.
  4. Gardens & Grounds – Complementing the royal palace are breath-taking grounds and gardens. The ornate terraces, recently renovated as part of a major conservation project, are in full bloom with brightly coloured flowers and shrubs and will provide the perfect background for our equestrian action.

Tickets for London Capital & Finance Horse Trials are on sale now, and every ticket holder will receive access to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s Beach and the Swiss Cottage – meet you there!
