**NEWSFLASH** Osberton Weather Update

Dear All

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Osberton International Horse Trials incorporating the Caunton Manor British Eventing Young Horse Championships 2019.

The following information should help you with information and updates about the event.

The ground at Osberton is looking great, having had a bit of rain it is thriving and looking very green and lush. Towards the beginning of this week we are due a lot of rain especially on Tuesday. We ask when you are planning your trip please allow plenty of time to get to Osberton and unload, especially if you are trotting horses up. If you can bear with us when you get to site, as we have a lot of lorries to get in, and so we want to minimise the damage as much as possible getting you all in to keep the grass green and fend off the mud! However, the weather is looking great at the end of the week.

Tuesday’s trot up will not be taking place – all horses will trot up on Wednesday from 2pm.
**Due to weather forecast we will be closing the site on TUESDAY 1st OCTOBER – and no vehicles/horseboxes etc will be allowed on site. We have contacted those riders due to do dressage on Wednesday and rescheduled your times for Thursday & Friday. We apologise for the inconvenience, but this will enable us to hopefully combat the severe weather on Tuesday and be up and rolling first thing Wednesday morning.**

As normal all stabled horses arriving the stable yard will be required to have their passports checked before entering the stables. 6YO & 7YO’s need to be presented at the stable managers to have their passports checked before doing dressage – even if you are coming in daily – please walk or ride your horse to the stable managers to have this all checked.

4YO & 5YO championship horses who are coming in daily, as per BE Rules are asked to take their passports to the event office when you collect your numbers.

This year we are trying to be slightly greener so please text your class and name to 07464 803781 to be added to the Whatsapp messaging service to get updates & Notices straight to your phone, hopefully saving a few trees.

As ever we have evening entertainment on each night. Wednesday will be the launch of the brand new British Eventing Gin and our rider welcome party. This year it is kindly being sponsored by British Polo Gin, who have created the British Eventing Gin. Polo Pubs will be providing gourmet burgers with homemade slaw and crisps during the welcome party. Riders are allocated one complimentary voucher for this – which can be claimed in the event office. Extra tickets can be purchased for £5 from the event office. Each ticket will entitle you to one burger and G&T! Alongside this we have a laser clay pigeon shooting alley in the bar – so bring your best shot and see how well you can do!

Thursday night we are headed back to the 80’s with a British Polo Gin Happy Hour starting a 6.30pm and running into 80’s music all evening. Friday night we welcome back an EQuestrian of Sport – and we are pitting the Drivers against the Eventers – head to the bar and see who is victorious and stay on for an acoustic set by Heather Flint! Winding up the week with our Last Night party on Saturday!

Don’t forget we have the Bistro open Thursday, Friday and Saturday night for you to enjoy a slightly quieter meal! Head to the event office to book your tickets – booking for that evening will close at 3pm.

Any questions please do not hesitate to drop us an email

Many thanks
