Welcome to the Investec Intermediate League.
Intermediate competitors will reap the rewards of a brand-new competitive league across the 2023 season, with points earned towards major prizes at the end of the year. Sponsored by long term BEDE Events sponsors, Investec, they are specialists in investment management and tax planning. Providing advice on retirement planning, pensions, inheritance tax planning. Helping our clients achieve their long term financial goals whether that be helping their children or grandchildren with school or university fees or planning for long term care costs in later life. The Investec Intermediate League will take place across the BEDE Event competitions, culminating in the grand finale for those qualified: the CCI3* class at September’s prestigious Osberton International Horse Trials.
The Investec League is open to registered members of British Eventing who haven’t competed at Advanced in the previous five years (incl 2019). Points can be collected by a horse and rider combination in any Intermediate division across the six qualification events and the finale, though GO BE classes will not count towards point allocations.
Pre-registration is required to join the league, please use the link above. The participating events are as follows:
• Oasby (1) – 9th to 12th March (Abandoned)
• The Eventing Spring Carnival – 31st March – 2nd April (Intermediate classes abandoned)
• Catton Park – 17th – 19th June
• Osberton International – 27th Sept – 1st October – CCI2* Final
Points will be collected through the initial six events: three points will be awarded upon completion; two points for jumping clear in the showjumping phase; and two points for jumping clear (sans jumping penalties) in the cross-country phase. Those who meet the MER three times (Minimum Eligibility Requirements) may enter the CCI3* at Osberton, at which points will be awarded for placings: 15 points to the winner, 14 points to the runner up, and so on, with 15th place receiving one point, while all double clears (no jumping penalties in either jumping phase) will receive a two-point bonus. The league prize-giving will be held alongside the CCI1* prize-giving in the main arena.
We are hoping to add some Intermediate classes at other events to this league, given the disappointment of the abandonments early in the season. Keep your eyes on our social media pages
